About XKey
XKey is a free SEO and AI search checker for UK businesses, made by IceWork, a small web studio in Blackpool.
Why we built it
Most SEO tools are built for agencies: expensive, hidden behind sign-ups, and full of jargon. Small business owners need something simpler – a clear score, a short list of what matters, and an honest explanation. We also wanted a tool that takes AI search seriously, because that's where search is heading.
How it's built
XKey runs on Cloudflare's network. Checks are based on what Google and the AI providers document publicly, and we update them as their guidance changes. We fetch pages the way a search engine does, follow robots.txt in the site audit and don't keep your content.
Who's behind it
XKey is made by IceWork, a web design studio in Blackpool. If you'd like help fixing what XKey finds, IceWork can do it – but the tools are free to use either way.
